Important Updates

  • In observance of Cesar Chavez Day, Financial Aid and Scholarships will be closed on Friday, March 29, 2024.
  • The priority filing date for the 2024-25 FAFSA and CADAA has been extended to May 2, 2024. Visit Apply for Financial Aid for details.
  • The Department of Education has announced they will send information from the 2024-25 FAFSA to schools in mid-March. This may result in a delay in financial aid packaging and offers for the 2024-25 academic year. While awaiting your financial aid offer, we encourage you to utilize the UC Davis Financial Aid Estimator to estimate your potential aid.

Independent Study Abroad

Independent Study Abroad programs are outside of UC Davis and the UC system. If you are unable to locate a program that meets your academic, personal, or professional needs after exploring options within UC Davis and the UC System, you may consider an independent program.

Financial aid is not available for Independent Study Abroad programs. Funding and scholarship opportunities may be available through your Independent Provider or Host University. Please contact your Independent Study Abroad Provider or Host Institution for more information. If you would like financial aid to assist with studying abroad, please select and participate in a UC Davis or UCEAP abroad program or visit the Global Learning Hub website for available programs.

To participate in an independent study abroad program during the academic terms of fall, winter, or spring quarters, you must apply for Independent Leave through the Global Learning Hub Office. By applying for Independent Study Abroad Leave, you can retain your UC Davis student status, email, PASS time, etc. The Independent Leave Process is not available during the summer terms. For more information, please visit the Global Learning Hub website or contact the Global Learning Hub at globallearning@ucdavis.edu.
